Following the initial installation of an LPS, a regular test and inspection are essential to ensure it continues to provide the level of protection required.

BSEN 62305 states that an LPS should be inspected every six to twelve months, depending on the type of building. Seasonal changes can affect LPS test readings. Therefore we recommend that a test is carried out on a standard structure every eleven months to allow for these seasonal effects.

Structures with explosive contents should also have an additional visual inspection every six months [BSEN 62305]
